florence and the machine

Florence is a dirty, pretty city where Michel Angelo's David resides and the pigeons are absolutely mammoth. Funny story actually, as I was walking around this city very hungover and not in the best of moods I said to a friend 'wow look at the size of those doves!', knowing full well they were pigeons. Rookie error - don't take a stroll around a historically architectural and beautiful city while resisting the urge to throw up. This is what Top Deck tours do to you.

Florence is also the name of the British singer who fronts the band 'Florence and the Machine'. I was driving home today and couldn't figure out who the hell sings that song 'dog days are over', thinking it was that Icelandic chick Ida Maria. Then the unwitting Scott Dooley announced another song by Florence and the Machine called 'Kiss with a Fist' and I was in musical heaven. The lyrics are hilarious and any scorned girl who has ever been screwed over will get a kick out of them.

Not to mention Florence is a bit of a babe...
